Each year, more than 8,000 students and 1,500 teachers in 200 schools are directly impacted by the Global Young Leaders education program. It's the only education initiative in North Texas focused on global competence, with Junior World Affairs Council clubs on 75 local high school campuses (public, private, and charter).
Mission: To provide North Texas students with the tools and skills to make a positive change in the North Texas community, effectively interact with people from different backgrounds, and compete for jobs in the global workforce.
Values: GYL believes that in order to prepare the next generation of North Texas residents to compete in the global economy, they need global competence skills to solve complex problems, create opportunities for all, and advance shared respect for human dignity.
Vision: Students are transformed from observers into informed international participants by gaining global competency skills through educational programs focused on diplomatic leadership, civic engagement, problem-solving, and cultural intelligence.
