The At-Large Sumners Scholarships provide $15,000/year to rising juniors at a Texas college or university, for both of their last two years of undergraduate work. The Sumners Foundation is seeking applicants who demonstrate an interest in their mission of education in self-government, be it through their college majors or community work such as assisting in political campaigns. Students should demonstrate academic excellence, civic engagement, and a capacity for leadership.
Requirements: students must be permanent residents of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Arkansas, or Kansas. They must have a cumulative minimum GPA of at least 3.25.

Selection criteria include two letters of recommendation, an essay response, school/extracurricular activities, and an academic record. Sumners Foundation Trustees will conduct interviews of the finalists.
Deadline: July 6th, 5 p.m. Interviews will be held on August 11th.
