Fall 2020 Intern Spotlight: Aubrie Yarbrough

My name is Aubrie Yarbrough and I am a junior at Southern Methodist University here in Dallas, Texas. At SMU, I am President of both the Italian and Triathlon club and I enjoy volunteering. This past summer I worked for Praescient Analytics in Washington D.C. and completed the Fund for American Studies summer program, studying foreign policy and international economics.

I am an International Visitor Program intern, so here at the Council I work on proposals for international visitors, search for new resources in Dallas that match requested topics, compile and organize our current resources, and assist in the virtual Visitor Programs.

There are many great opportunities that I have enjoyed at the Council. I loved attending the webinars with Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Pete Buttigieg in particular. It was fascinating to hear from such prominent political speakers. My favorite part of working at the Council so far has been attending one on one Board Member meetings; they are very insightful and helpful towards my future. After I graduate, I plan to complete a Fulbright fellowship, work for the State Department, and eventually attain a graduate degree in either diplomacy or business.
