TEACHING ONLINE FOR GLOBAL COMPETENCE

The U.S. Department of State is excited to announce Teaching Online for Global Competence – a free, self-paced online course for U.S. educators! Teaching Online for Global Competence is an interactive, open online course designed to support educators with the introductory knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to prepare their students – and themselves – to create and engage in virtual learning experiences. As education systems in the U.S. transition to online learning, this course provides meaningful, hands on approaches for engaging students in virtual learning. The course supports students for success in our increasingly virtual and interconnected communities, country, and world.   Learn more and start today! The Teaching Online for Global Competence program offers:

  • A 5-hour massive open online course

  • Lesson plans and videos

  • Testimonials from expert teachers across the U.S.

  • Social and emotional learning resources

  • Threaded discussions with colleagues

Educators who successfully complete the course will receive a U.S. Department of State Online Global Educator badge and certificate noting five hours of independent professional learning. The course will be open September 2020 – March 2020.  Enrollees will work at their own pace to complete the 5 hours of asynchronous instruction.
